Outreach Center Services Ambassador

Non-Exempt, hourly (40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 7:45-4:15 pm)

Reports To:  Outreach Center Programs Director

Scope of Position:

This person is the first face that visitors see when they enter the Neyer Outreach Center. The Outreach Center Services Ambassador will ensure that all neighbors, volunteers, donors, and other guests receive consistent, quality customer service. This includes greeting all guests coming in the building, entering accurate information into our case management system, providing appropriate referrals to neighbors in need, and performing a variety of administrative duties to support offered services. This position serves as the primary liaison to partner agencies serving in the facility.  The Outreach Center Services Ambassador is vital to creating and maintaining a welcoming environment for all who enter the Neyer Outreach Center.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Models the mission and values of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul
  • Welcomes and provides compassionate guidance to all guests who enter the Outreach Center
  • Refers neighbors who come in or call to parish Conferences, our Call Center or other community resources if appropriate
  • Provides all who come in or call with information about services offered and hours of operation as requested
  • Ensures necessary forms are completed and that needed documentation is presented and copied for files in connection with requests for service
  • Performs data entry functions as required at service site by assisting with accurate input and managing of neighbor related data in our electronic case management system
  • Manages and organizes electronic files according to the needs of the site
  • Supports Call Center to update and maintain call records (finding duplicates, coordinating when a neighbor who has left a message comes for in person services, etc.)
  • Alerts staff, according to policy, of visitors who may require special attention
  • Ensures reception and waiting area are neat and clean and notifies administrative staff of maintenance needs as requested
  • Coordinates ordering of office supplies for Neyer Outreach Center with the Executive Assistant
  • Ensures that reception is appropriately staffed, working with volunteers and staff to coordinate front desk responsibilities and duties
  • Provides leadership and direction to volunteers and staff who perform receptionist support
  • Trains new staff and volunteers on front desk policies & procedures
  • Receives packages and mail for the Neyer Outreach Center
  • Opens and closes the building to the public each day
  • Serves as point of contact with partner agencies services at the Neyer Outreach Center
  • Directs donors making in person contributions at the Neyer Outreach Center to the drop off location and provides donation receipts for “in-kind” contributions
  • Ensures program forms and public information brochures are available in reception area
  • Participates as a member of the SVDP Outreach Center Programs team
  • Performs clerical duties as requested by supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned


A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Strong interpersonal skills and must be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Applicant must be able to work effectively with people of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Proficiency in Spanish is an asset. A background in administrative work is a plus. A proficiency in both Word and Excel is a must.

Work Environment:  Office environment – adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.

Physical Requirements:  Job duties can primarily be performed from a desk; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items up to 35 lbs.

Parish Work – Divine Mercy and St. Bernard parishes

For immediate hire, three part-time hourly positions available, assisting the Pastor of Divine Mercy and St. Bernard parishes (www.dmsbcatholic.com) in Campbell County:

Business Manager

15-20 hours per week, helping the Pastor manage properties and finances for the parishes, several rental properties, and a preschool. Familiar with QuickBooks software is a must, and prior experience is preferred. Would work with the existing Parish Secretary and bookkeeping volunteers.

Parish Minister, Youth through Adult Faith

Full-time (or Part-time, if it better suits the candidate), initiating and coordinating Youth Ministry, Young Adult activities, Adult Faith Formation, Small Groups, and Evangelism. The ideal candidate will be an energetic self-starter with good organizational skills who has good familiarity with technology, especially social media. Would work very closely with the Pastor.

General “Handy Person”

5-15 hours per week, performing odd tasks around the two campuses. Candidates should have solid problem-solving, repair, and grounds keeping skills, and will be able to get up on a ladder. Living with close proximity to the parishes would be a plus, to be able to handle emergencies.
