Assistant Principal – St. Lawrence School, Lawrenceburg, IN

St. Lawrence School in Lawrenceburg, Indiana is seeking an assistant principal for the 2022-2023 school year.  Interested candidates must be practicing Catholics who have a deep love of the faith and a firm commitment to the doctrine and morals of the Catholic Church.  To be eligible, candidates should possess an administrator’s license in the state of Indiana or another state.  Applicants who do not possess an administrator’s license will be considered if they are willing to begin and complete a licensure program.  These candidates must already possess a master’s degree in a field of education.  St. Mary’s School is merging with St. Lawrence School this year which makes it a time of growth and tremendous potential.  Under the supervision of the two pastors in solidum, we want to create an authentically Catholic experience for our students and families.  Interested candidates should have a strong desire to work towards making the school a model Catholic school and the best school in the area.

Job Description:  The assistant principal of St. Lawrence School will serve as an administrator and be involved in all administrative decisions.  The assistant principal will assist Mr. Dennis in managing the school on a day-to-day basis.  He or she should be detailed oriented and be able to manage several projects existing at the same time.  A candidate who has worked in a school with STREAM would be beneficial.  This person should enjoy innovation and implementation.  Specific duties and expectations will include:

  • Coordinating and planning class schedules
  • Working with staff throughout the building
  • Communicating with staff and families
  • Student discipline
  • Assist in evaluating data
  • Treating everyone in the school with the respect that each person deserves as a child of God
  • Indiana Choice Scholarship program implementation
  • Supervising extracurricular events
  • Coordinating substitutes
  • Attendance matters
  • Furthering the school’s mission and goals
  • Participate and sometimes lead professional development
  • Supervise operations in principal’s absence
  • Participate in Mass weekly
  • Lead students on the path of sainthood by modeling Catholic dispositions
  • Collaborate with principal on a daily basis on school improvement
  • Provide oversight for St. Mary’s Preschool
  • Attend community events when school is involved
  • Attend Open Houses and Back to School events
  • Other duties as assigned
