The Diocese of Covington will celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life on Saturday, February 7. Bishop Iffert will celebrate Mass at 10:00 am at the Cathedral. A reception will follow in Bishop Howard Memorial Hall. All are welcome.
In 1997, Pope St. John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. Several communities of women and men religious continue to serve the Church in the Diocese of Covington. Our Diocese is also blessed with women whose vocation is consecrated virginity. We pray for those called to the consecrated life, that they may continue to be faithful witnesses to God’s love.
