Notre Dame Sister Marla Monahan, vicar for religious, welcomed Bishop John Iffert and the 2026 women religious jubilarians for a celebratory luncheon, Oct. 3, at St. Charles Community Center. The gathering honored the jubilarians for their life-long commitment to God in service to His people.

“What a blessing for our work, for our church, especially for our Diocese of Covington,” said Sister Marla after introducing the jubilarians. “We’re so very grateful and we’re glad we can celebrate today.”

After the meal, Bishop Iffert also thanked the Sisters, recognizing that their life of consecration is defined by total commitment to God’s kingdom and performing sacrifices to draw others toward Christ.

“Thank you for your witness to the importance of consecration and how even the nature of a thing that is of itself good is transformed by a life that is completely dedicated to the civilization of Christ’s love,” Bishop Iffert said. “I’m most grateful to you and I thank you all very much.”
