Parish Missionary Disciples is a training program by which Catholic believers can become missionary disciples. This training deepens one’s relationship with Jesus Christ, transforms one into a disciple, and empowers one to meaningfully, joyfully, and respectfully give witness to how Jesus Christ lives in our hearts, influences our lives, and calls us to holiness.
St. Mary Parish in Alexandria will host the next three-session training on Thursdays, January 22, February 5, and February 19, 2026 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome! To register, contact Ken at kenglaser24@gmail.com or call 859-512-1577.
The first session is titled Knowing Your Story. This session prepares you to better understand your own faith journey and how to prepare yourself to share with others. The second session is titled Sharing Your Story. This session gives you tools to share your faith with others and how to recognize opportunities to do so. The third session is titled Praying With Others. This session helps you learn how to pray with others and when it is appropriate to offer to pray with someone or simply pray for someone.
The entire program aims to challenge Catholic Christians to step out of their comfort zone and be visible disciples of Christ in the world. The program has participants from multiple parishes in the diocese and is part of the With One Heart initiative. We have had almost 200 people participate in the PMD workshops since Spring of 2024. Our goal is to reach as many people as possible. Our Church and our parishes need the laity to step up and lead.
