Preschool Substitute Teacher – Saint Mary School

Saint Mary School in Alexandria is searching for a Preschool Substitute Teacher.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age, with a high school diploma, be Virtus compliant or complete Virtus training, and complete fifteen professional development training hours a year.  Our substitute teachers help provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children ages 3–5 while supporting the classroom teacher and keeping the daily routine running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising and engaging children throughout the school day.
• Following the classroom’s daily schedule and routines.
• Supporting learning activities, and play.
• Helping with meals, snacks, bathroom routines, and rest time.
• Using positive guidance and redirection when addressing behaviors.
• Following all school and state licensing policies and procedures.

Previous experience working with children is preferred but not required.
