Jail Ministry Coordinator – Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Covington, is accepting qualified candidates for a Jail Ministry Coordinator. The position is 40% FTE (16 hours a week, including some evenings). Job requirements include: a bachelor’s degree in a human service field; prior experience in pastoral ministry (volunteer or paid); familiarity with community resources in Northern Kentucky; commitment to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching; a strong work ethic, excellence with details, a self-starter, and adherence to boundaries; excellent verbal and written communication skills; calm, composed demeanor; driver’s license and personal auto. Job responsibilities include: providing a diocesan framework for recruiting, certifying, and training volunteers to participate in jail/prison ministry; participating in the Northern Kentucky Reentry Team; coordinating and leading the jail ministry advisory committee; mentoring and providing support and materials to the Ministry Night groups; monitoring and communicating with ministry volunteers as well as with detention facilities; maintaining records and databases; organizing and leading regularly scheduled volunteers meetings for the purpose of socializing, discussing experiences, training, and reflecting. Parish Kitchen, Weekend Manager – Catholic Charities

Parish Kitchen is a special ministry that serves a free lunch every day in Covington to anyone who is hungry.  We are looking for individuals who feel a call to serve within the context of this ministry, and who are capable of working with the population we serve.  We are currently in need of additional Weekend Managers on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., to help prepare a meal, supervise volunteers who assist serving between 11:30 – 1:30, and clean up after closing.  Ideally, two Weekend Managers work together to oversee all aspects of this operation.  Prior experience in one or more of the following would be a strong plus: food service, ministry and social work.  You may be scheduled as few as once a month, or up to 4 or 5 times per month, depending on your availability and others.

Mental Health Counselor

The Diocese of Covington’s Catholic Charities is seeking to hire a Counselor for our Mental Health Programs. The position is 40 hours per week, including some evening hours. This staff person performs all the duties of a licensed counselor for our general counseling practice serving individuals and families. Major areas of responsibility include outpatient screening, assessment, case management, diagnoses, and therapy to children, families, and adults within the outpatient program; and facilitating groups as appropriate. Some services may require delivery off-site, at collaborating community agencies or schools. The successful candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic individual with a Master’s degree, who has previously worked with diverse populations of families, couples, children, and adults; LCSW or LPCC licensure, experience with DSM 5, and the ability to perform therapist duties independently.
