8th Grade Language Arts Teacher (Full-time) – St. Pius X School – 2026-2027

Overview:
St. Pius X School is seeking a qualified and faith-filled 8th Grade Language Arts teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Catholic education, academic excellence, and the spiritual, intellectual, and moral development of students. This position involves teaching reading, writing, grammar, and literature while integrating Catholic values and fostering critical thinking, communication skills, and a love of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Language Arts instruction for 8th grade students
  • Teach reading comprehension, writing (including narrative, expository, and persuasive forms), grammar, vocabulary, and literature
  • Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and perspectives into the Language Arts curriculum
  • Create a structured, respectful, and supportive classroom environment
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and provide timely feedback
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff
  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer, faculty meetings, and professional development
  • Support the mission, philosophy, and policies of the Catholic Church and the school

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Language Arts, or a related field 
  • Valid Kentucky teaching certification or licensure
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must be supportive of and willing to model Catholic teachings and values
  • Experience teaching middle school Language Arts preferred
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth
