After Care Worker – St. Joseph School, Crescent Springs
Reports To: After Care Directors
Location: St. Joseph School, Crescent Springs
Employment Type: Part-Time, Monday -Friday, 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Job Summary:
The After Care Worker is responsible for supervising students during the after-school program, both in the designated indoor spaces and on the playground. This position ensures the safety and well-being of all students, assists with snack distribution, provides homework support, and helps with check-in and dismissal procedures in accordance with after care policies.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and actively engage with students in the after care room and on the playground.

Ensure the safety and security of all students at all times.

Assist with the distribution and clean-up of snacks.

Support students with homework and encourage positive study habits.

Monitor student behavior and implement appropriate discipline strategies when necessary, in alignment with school and after care guidelines.

Assist with student check-in and dismissal as needed, ensuring that students are released only to authorized individuals.

Maintain accurate attendance and documentation as required.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.

Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

Help set up, organize, and clean program areas before and after activities.

Perform other duties as assigned by the After Care Directors.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in education or child development welcome.

Experience working with children in a school or recreational setting is highly desirable.

Ability to manage groups of children with a calm and confident demeanor.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic understanding of child safety and emergency procedures.
-
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods and to work both indoors and outdoors.

Ability to lift small loads (less than 25 pounds)
