Position Summary
Covington Latin School seeks a dynamic, student-centered educator to teach Mathematics and lead the Robotics program for the 2025–2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle and high school math courses and enthusiasm for leading competitive robotics teams.
Key Responsibilities
● Teach a range of math courses from 7th-grade through AP Calculus.
● Teach VEX Robotics class and develop the school’s Robotics program, including coaching a competitive VEX Robotics team.
● Integrate technology and hands-on learning into classroom instruction.
● Foster a growth-oriented, inclusive classroom environment aligned with the mission of Covington Latin.
● Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum, cross-disciplinary initiatives, and student support.
● Participate in school-wide activities, events, and professional development.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
● Teaching certification or eligibility preferred.
● Experience with VEX Robotics platform.
● Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
● Commitment to the school’s classical, Catholic educational mission
Preferred Experience
● Prior experience teaching in an accelerated or gifted environment.
● Familiarity with programming languages used in robotics (e.g., Python, C++).
● Ability to sponsor or co-sponsor STEM clubs or summer enrichment programs.
