School-Based Counselor – Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Covington is hiring a Counselor for our School-Based Counseling Program for the upcoming school year, from August 16, 2025, to May 31, 2026. This position is 40 hours per week, or 100% Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) for 9½ months. The ideal candidate should be capable of performing all duties associated with master’s level mental health staff and should be able to work with minimal supervision. School-based counselors implement educational programs and interventions, conduct school counseling tasks, and provide therapeutic services. They are part of a school-based team that meets monthly for team meetings and peer case reviews. Requirements include a master’s degree in social work or clinical counseling; a state counseling license (preferred) or license-eligibility; and prior experience, especially in schools. Responsibilities will include assessment and diagnosis of children and youth using knowledge of the DSM-5, along with treatment planning; engaging effectively with parents and school staff; a creative and flexible approach to meet the needs of both students and school; and case documentation and record-keeping. Candidates must own a car and have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
