Music Director – Saint Joseph Parish, Camp Springs

Coordinator of Youth Formation – St. Gertrude Parish

St. Gertrude Parish in Cincinnati, OH (www.stgertrude.org) seeks candidates for the full-time position of Coordinator of Youth Formation, The Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the formation offerings for children in grades 4–8 (approx. ages 9–14) at St. Gertrude Parish, including significant involvement in St. Gertrude School to supplement the formation of those students in grades 6-8. The Coordinator will develop child-centered and family-focused formation content and organize and implement all necessary programming.

REGULAR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Recruit and form adult catechists, volunteers, and so forth as teams of missionary disciples capable and competent in carrying out faith formation initiatives for children ages 9–14 (those in grades 4–8).
  2. Collaborate with the St. Gertrude School principal and staff to supplement the spiritual and human formation of students in grades 6–8 and their families, which includes:
    • Developing and implementing content and programming for school retreats.
    • Planning and implementing events for children in grades 7–8.
    • Assisting children in grades 6–8 in intellectual formation regarding morality and sacramental preparation.
    • Assisting in developing programming and direction of Households for the school students in grades 2–8.
    • Engaging in relational ministry with school students during lunch and recess.
  3. Collaborate with the children and youth evangelization team lead to:
    • Develop content, curriculum, and program plans for family-focused formation for all families with children in grades 4-6 (including the Family Faith ministry model) and implement such plans.
    • Handle all planning and implementation of junior high (grades 7–8) events and programs.
    • Develop content, curriculum, and program plans for L’alto: Confirmation (grades 7–8) and execute the necessary program elements (including necessary liturgical planning, etc. pertaining to Confirmation).
  4. Recruit and form high school peer ministers as a team of missionary disciples capable and competent in assisting with the junior high and Confirmation preparation ministries.
  5. Collaborate with the communications coordinator and other members of the evangelization team to ensure suitable distribution of information and materials to parish families in a timely manner. Conduct all necessary communications to participants in programs.
  6. Participate in children and youth evangelization team meetings and events and contribute to the good of the whole parish. Participate in all required parish staff meetings and events.
  7. Other responsibilities as designated by the pastor.

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be based upon qualifications and experience. A full archdiocesan benefits package is part of the compensation.

 WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Regular daytime, evening, and weekend work hours required (40+ hours per week)
  • Frequent collaboration with parish and school staff on shared ministry
  • Shared office space with flexibility to work some hours remotely
